About Us

Meals on Wheels Western Michigan (formerly Senior Meals on Wheels) was established in 1984, and to this day operates with the mission that all seniors are provided with quality, nutrition services to enable them to remain healthy and independent in their own homes. We accomplish our mission by physically delivering meals to homebound seniors, providing a friendly atmosphere and nutritious meal at one of our 13 dining centers, and allowing seniors to shop at one of our three pantry locations twice a month. Meals on Wheels Western Michigan, or MOWWM, prepares approximately 530,000 meals annually. Of those meals, over 450,000 are delivered to homebound older adults. More than 5,500 individuals in Kent County are served through our services. Our dining centers serve up more than 80,000 meals each year. MOWWM's pantries serve 1,000+ seniors each month. In 2015, more than 1 MILLION pounds of food was given-- a new record!
